Congratulations, you’ve decided to join the social media world. Now for the tough part…where do you start?
What social platform should I choose?
Sadly, we can’t quickly answer “what social media network is right for you” in an instant…and neither can you. It takes research and work.
To start, talk to your customers. Ask them where they like to spend their time online. Is it Facebook? Twitter? LinkedIn? YouTube? Instagram? Pinterest? Once you find out where your audience spends their time, do your research. Search for your industry (and brand) keywords in order to see if your audience is talking about you or your subject matter.
Be where your audience is
Now that you’ve found out where your audience lives online, it’s time to create a powerful presence there. Start by filling out as much information as possible in your profile. That includes branded photos.
Acquire a following by creating great content and incorporate advertising into your strategy as well.
Captivate your audience
Last but certainly not least, it’s time to engage your audience.
Since you found them on the network they use the most, it’s important to talk about what your audience is interested in. Try posting images and videos, incorporating factual or “did you know?” posts, infographics, true/false questions, and other ways that get your customers liking and commenting.
